Number Handout At The Belgian Club
As in previous years, there will be a number handout at the Belgian Club on Thursday September 4th from 7 till approx 9 pm. Chips for the new timing system will also be assigned. Avoid a lot of race day frustration by doing this on Thursday and you can enjoy a cool Belgian beer at the same time if you wish. It's a great social kick-off to the season and if you've got questions for the cross coordinator, cross committee members, or commissaires this is the perfect opportunity.
Cross Labs 2014
The one and only CrossLabs returns for 2014.
Everyone is invited to free, fun cyclocross clinics at Canadian Mennonite University, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The clinics will involve skills and drills designed to challenge all abilities. If you are new to the sport and aiming to try an event this season or if you've got experience and are aiming to improve - these sessions are for you.
Dates: Sept 10 and 24th 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m
All sessions will be held at CMU. Parking is available in the lot north of the large university building (or come by bike - lots of great bike routes nearby!).

- If you're under 18, a parent or guardian (to sign a waiver -- all participants will need to sign a waiver in the presence of clinic staff)

2014 Equipment Rules
Please note that for 2014 all riders in the A and B events (CX1/2 Men, CX3 Men, and CX1/2/3 Women) must have a cyclocross style bike (tires max 34 mm wide, road style handlebars NOT straight bars, max width of bars 50 cm). This requirement is still more liberal than the UCI standard.
In 2009 and 2010 the cyclocross committee published rules outlining that all categories except the lowest would require a cyclo-cross bike. A lot of time has been given for riders to adapt to the equipment rules. Riders in the C event (CX4 men, CX4 women, and citizen racers) will still be allowed to use mountain bikes that conform to UCI MTB standards (i.e. no bar ends, no studded tires, at least two functioning brakes, no aero bars, etc.)
Note that to participate in Nationals all bikes will have to conform to UCI standards, the most obvious difference with ours being a max tire width of 33mm.
